Meet our Staff
Ron Camblin - Minister
Ron joined the Southside staff in April, 2007 with more than 30 years of ministry experience. His experiences have included over 20 years of youth ministry leadership, 13+ years of preaching ministry, adult discipleship and missions leadership. Ron has traveled extensively around the world to countries such as: Poland, Czech-Republic, England, Africa, China, Mexico, Caribbean, South Korea, Israel, Jordan, Egypt and many others. He has also been involved in establishing leadership conferences in Nigeria, Africa and Jamaica, and was instrumental in launching two outreach ministries: Golf Fore the Hungry and Serve the City, an inter-denominational city ministry who's purpose is to get churches to reach out together to meet local needs.
Camblin Family
Ron and his wife Barb have been married for 32 years and have two children: Justin, who is an accountant with a firm in Lexington, Kentucky and Ashley, who is a senior at the University of Kentucky. Although life would not be the same without the Camblin's dog ... Allie Grace, their golden retriever. Ron's favorite things to do are working out, playing golf, going to movies, reading, watching 24 and spending time at the beach. You can occasionally find him hanging out at the local Chick-fil-A or Starbucks!
Melissa Clark - Office Administrator
Melissa has been blessed with a wonderful husband, Troy, for eleven years. She has been honored with the privilege of motherhood for the last six years to her beautiful daughter, Iliana.
Melissa and her family have been attending Southside Christian Church for the past eleven years. Melissa joined the staff here at Southside in September 2004 as the Office Administrator. Melissa has served at Southside in several ministries over the years. She currently sings with the Worship Arts Team, is involved with the Ladies Ministry, and hosts a Journey Group in her home. The "Hostess with the Mostest" one might say!
Josh Van Tassel - Student Ministries Director
Josh a graduate of Florida Christian College in Kissimmee, Florida. He has a bachelors degree in Youth and Family Ministry. Joshua Jay or Fatty (as he is better known by most) was raised in St. Cloud, Florida by his parents Buddy and Joy. Josh attributes his passion for ministry to his parents and their constant love for the ministry of the church.
Josh is passionate about seeing God impact the lives of students and their families, giving every student the opportunity to be a leader, and Zaxby's!
Jeremy Tomlinson - Worship & Arts
Even though Jeremy moved a few times growing up, Nashville has always been his hometown and has proved to be a great asset in his music education. Singing in a’cappella quartets for 4 years during college led to his love of music and eventually, worship leading. Prior to joining the Southside team, he served as the Creative Arts Minister at the Metro Church in Winter Springs, FL for 2 years. Jeremy’s greatest love on this earth is his wife, Crystal. Jeremy and Crystal love worshiping together and with the Southside family.
Jeremy is a graduate of Full Sail University with an AS in Recording Engineering and a BS in Entertainment Business. He has since co-founded the event production company, Rec Tec Live, inc.
